Multiple sports are great but beware of burnout

Although springtime schedules seem hectic, the multi-sport approach is still recommended at the youth level — as long as parents, coaches and players work together to find a healthy balance.

As the weather gets warmer, more and more activities open up for young athletes.

From soccer, to baseball, track and field, basketball — even dance lessons — schedules tend to be jam-packed. And with spring soccer camps already well underway, players are tied up at least three nights a week for training, on top of weekend games.
